See, I would have thought the thing she would have done is to lay low and let the hubbub dissipate into oblivion before she unleashes her made over self with new language skills sometime in the future. Then she goes and does this interview and I’m like, I can’t defend this girl anymore. She’s on her own now.
Not only did she get herself out there and perpetuate the negative publicity she has been getting, but she was blatantly crude. And for good measure, she was crude in both in English and Hokkien. Now, that crossed the line for me personally.
I must say, though, that the video captivated my attention from beginning to end.
Then I got thinking. What if she is not as clueless as most people think she is. Perhaps, she is absolutely brilliant and she has us all on. Maybe she knows that this is the formula to get her out there. I suppose in the similar way that
William Hung exploited his lack of talent. It’s just possible that everything she says and does is perfectly measured to make a mockery of her, knowing that this mockery will make her famous. And in Singapore, famous, she is.
Who among the local celebrities or even politicians have coined new terms that have been immediately adopted in popular parlance? That’s one impressive feat. Boomz.
Or, she is may be totally, utterly and hopelessly clueless.
Brilliant or clueless?
As far as I’m concerned, I can’t stand by her defence any more. She’s on her own now.
Shingz!
